• Not for acute symptoms: Tezspire should not be used to treat acute bronchospasm, status asthmaticus, or sudden asthma exacerbations.
• Hypersensitivity reactions: Rash and allergic conjunctivitis can occur, sometimes with delayed onset of several days; Tezspire is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to it or its excipients.
• Corticosteroid tapering: Systemic and inhaled corticosteroids should not be discontinued abruptly upon starting Tezspire; any dose reduction should be gradual and supervised by the treating doctor.

Documentation & Availability

What documents are required to import Tezspire to India?

Tezspire (tezepelumab-ekko) injection may be imported in the patient's name only, by patients or government hospitals, in line with India's import regulations for unapproved medicines. The following documentation is required:

• A valid prescription from a qualified pulmonologist or allergist
• The patient's diagnostic reports confirming severe asthma
• Patient ID proof (issued by the Government of India)

How is the order confirmed?

The order is confirmed only after receipt and verification of a valid prescription from the doctor and, if applicable, an import permit.

Is Tezspire available in India?

Tezspire (tezepelumab-ekko injection) is a prescription medicine that legally requires a doctor's prescription to be dispensed. As of current publicly available information, Tezspire is not commercially marketed in India.

However, patients in India can legally access Tezspire through the Named Patient Program (NPP) — an import provision that allows patients to receive medicines approved in other countries but not yet marketed in India, under a doctor's prescription and proper regulatory documentation.

Tezspire received US FDA approval in December 2021 for the add-on maintenance treatment of severe asthma, ensuring full transparency throughout the process.
