Elunate Warnings and Precautions

• Treatment with Elunate can cause high blood pressure, including severe or potentially life-threatening elevations. Blood pressure should be controlled before treatment and monitored regularly, especially weekly during the first month and at least monthly thereafter. Treatment may require antihypertensive medication adjustment, dose reduction, interruption, or discontinuation.
• This medicinal product may cause serious or potentially fatal bleeding, including gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Patients taking anticoagulants should have their clotting levels, including INR, monitored closely. Elunate should be permanently discontinued if severe or life-threatening bleeding occurs. Seek immediate medical attention for unusual or heavy bleeding.
• Therapy with Fruquintinib may increase the risk of infections, including serious or potentially fatal infections. Patients should remain alert for signs such as fever, chills, persistent weakness, or other symptoms of infection. Contact your healthcare professional promptly if any symptoms develop during treatment for appropriate evaluation and management.
• Elunate may cause serious or potentially fatal gastrointestinal perforation or fistula formation. Patients should seek immediate medical attention if they experience severe abdominal pain or other symptoms that could indicate gastrointestinal perforation. Prompt medical evaluation is important to identify and manage these potentially serious complications.
• This medicine may harm an unborn baby, based on findings from animal studies. Women who could become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for the recommended period after the final dose. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment because potential risks to the infant remain.
• Concomitant use of strong or moderate CYP3A inducers should be avoided because they may lower fruquintinib levels and reduce its effectiveness. Elunate should be taken exactly as prescribed. Capsules should be swallowed whole and kept dry, protected from moisture, to maintain product integrity.
