Quinsair (levofloxacin) is an inhaled fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is indicated for:

Quinsair Warnings and Precautions

  • Bronchospasm: Quinsair can cause bronchospasm; a bronchodilator should be used before each dose, and lung function should be monitored.
  • Tendon effects: As with other fluoroquinolones, tendinitis and tendon rupture can occur.
  • Peripheral neuropathy: Fluoroquinolones have been associated with peripheral neuropathy, which can be irreversible.
  • CNS effects: Dizziness, confusion, and other central nervous system effects can occur.
  • QT prolongation: Caution is advised in patients with risk factors for cardiac arrhythmia.
  • Hemoptysis: Coughing up blood has been reported, particularly in patients with pre-existing lung damage.
